Really worth a visit, because this is the largest brackish water salt marsh in Western Europe! Once home to villages and even a castle, now nature has taken over and this is home to tens of thousands of birds.

If you spend your vacation at Resort Knuitershoek, you can easily reach Ghent, Bruges and Antwerp. Or cross the water at Terneuzen and drive to Vlissingen, Goes or Middelburg in 45 minutes.

Resort Knuitershoek is located in the hamlet of Ossenisse. In the village of Groenendijk, 6 kilometers away, you will find several fresh food stores, a supermarket and restaurants, including a cozy pancake house, brasserie, eatery and a Chinese restaurant. You cycle in a few minutes to the Perkpolder nature reserve outside the dike or drive by car in 25 minutes to the Drowned Land of Saeftinghe. Want more? Then drive to Terneuzen in no time. Drink coffee at the marina, go to Playground Oranjekwartier, visit the school museum or do a scavenger hunt to get to know the city in a playful way. When the weather is nice, it's fun to go supping on the creek or the Westerschelde.
